She has also gained the confidence to speak up in public after her time at Snehanchal.

Sangeeta - Teacher

Sangeeta was born in a village near Kurukshetra. She was vocationally trained in a similar NGO before becoming a teacher in Snehanchal. After having been a housewife for a long time she had lost the confidence to pursue a career. After her training and subsequent exposure as a teacher, she believes that Snehanchal has boosted her confidence and self-esteem, and this is the feeling she wants to inculcate in her trainees. In her classes, apart from vocational training, emotional support and feelings of belongingness are amplified. Her classes are a safe space for rural women who can open up, share their problems and work towards solutions together. She is currently teaching her 9th batch and has trained hundreds of women in rural India. She is also undertaking a course at the Industrial Training Institute and manages her studies, family and training centres.

Community

Our goal is to form a supportive community among our trainees. We believe in the power of empathy and collaboration. Even if our trainees decide to not pursue the skill professionally, they leave with boosted confidence and friends for life.
